Group Therapy

Community-based learning and support using the evidence-based A.H.E.A.D. model

What We Offer:

  • Structured group therapy using the A.H.E.A.D. curriculum—a widely-implemented, evidence-based model developed by MINDSOURCE Brain Injury Network specifically for brain injury survivors.

  • Education across five core domains: Awareness (understanding your injury), Help (building your support system), Emotions (managing feelings and mental health), Activities (rebuilding meaningful routines), and Dreams (reconnecting with purpose and future goals).

  • Peer connection and shared learning with other brain injury survivors who understand the invisible challenges, identity shifts, and daily navigation of life after injury.

  • Practical skill-building for executive function, emotional regulation, communication, relationship management, and community reintegration.

  • Guided discussions and exercises that normalize your experience, reduce isolation, and provide concrete tools for managing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral changes.

  • Affirming space for survivors at all stages of recovery to process grief, celebrate progress, and support one another through the ongoing journey of brain injury.

Why the A.H.E.A.D. Model Works:

Developed and refined by MINDSOURCE Brain Injury Network, the A.H.E.A.D. curriculum is used nationwide in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and community programs. This structured, evidence-informed approach addresses the multifaceted impact of brain injury through education, skill development, and peer support. Group participants consistently report decreased isolation, improved self-awareness, better coping strategies, and renewed hope for their lives after injury.
