Family Therapy
Building understanding, connection, and teamwork after brain injury
What We Offer:
-
Family therapy for brain injury survivors and their loved ones navigating personality changes, communication challenges, role shifts, and relationship strain after concussion, TBI, stroke, or other acquired brain injuries.
-
Education about mental health and brain injury to help the whole family understand neurological changes, behavioral differences, and what's happening beneath the surface.
-
Communication tools adapted for brain injury that account for processing speed, memory challenges, emotional regulation differences, and sensory needs.
-
Support for caregivers and partners managing grief, burnout, role changes, and the complex emotions of loving someone whose brain has changed.
-
Collaborative care planning to help families work as a team. We aim to help you balance support with autonomy, adapt expectations, and honor each person's individual needs.
-
Affirming space for complex feelings including loss, frustration, hope, and love as your family system adjusts to a new normal together.

Why Brain Injury-Informed Family Therapy Matters:
Brain injury reshapes entire family systems. When families understand the neurological reasons behind changes in mood, behavior, and functioning, they can move from frustration to compassion, from conflict to collaboration. Our approach helps families stay attuned to the invisible effects of brain injury while building new patterns of connection that work for everyone.
