
RESTORE: Acute Brain Injury Group
0-6 months post injury
Service Description
This group is designed for adults in the early recovery phase following a concussion or traumatic brain injury. Participants are joined by a supporter (family member or close contact) as they begin to process the physical, emotional, and cognitive impacts of injury. Supporters learn to identify and reduce caregiver burnout, access the resources, and develop the skills needed to support their survivors. Grounded in neuroscience and trauma-informed care, this group offers education, emotional validation, practical tools, and structured support for healing. Each participant completes a pre- and post-psychological evaluation to help tailor goals and track progress. Format: 8 weekly group sessions, 60 minutes each Includes: Individual evaluations, therapy materials, personalized recommendations, and local resources.
